Ear
Your baby’s ear becomes more perfect. He is able to distinguish the direction a sound is coming from clearly enough and a baby would respond it with a smile, a cry, or a starting. Your child’s favourite sound is the voice of a person, and he especially loves your tender voice. You should constantly talk to your little son or daughter, do not forget to name every object, talk by simple sentences, tell your baby short stories.
If there is a necessity to check if your baby hears well enough, it is just the time to do it. You should provide complete silence in the room the baby is, and then make about ten steps to the side. After that say something in a calm voice or you may either clap your hands. Having heard the sound, your baby will turn his head looking for you with his eyes. Do the same from another side of the room. It is important that a baby is to be in a good mood, and not sleepy during the time of the test conducting.
It you see that a baby has any problems with hearing you, it is extremely necessary to apply to your little one’s doctor and you are to visit a baby’s ear doctor.
Eyes
This is the age when your baby can fix his eyes on a subject, you have shown to him, and he can also follow the object he is interested in with his eyes and by turning his little head to different directions. By this time baby’s strabismus which he may had been having before should disappear. But if you are sure, your baby still has cast in his eyes, tell your paediatrist about it, and consult with baby’s eye – doctor. In order to strengthen your baby’s eyes’ muscles, you may perform the following simple exercise several times a day. Put a vivid object in front of your baby’s eyes in a distance of about 10 – 15 inches and move it up and down and to the sides. Of course, this kind of activity will make you little son or daughter tired quickly enough, and you should never make your little one perform it, it would be better to repeat somewhat later.
Studying the Surrounding
A mirror, which got into your baby’s hands, becomes a toy very quickly. First of all a baby investigates a new object, using all possible methods, but soon, having seen his reflection, he gets stumbled. This is an extremely new feeling for him, and although a baby does not accept the reflection in the mirror as his own, there are some definite impressions left, and next time this reflection may become the source of attention.
Watch how attentively your son or daughter would look at you, as if he or she is studying you thoroughly. At first your little baby looks at your eyes, following after their movements, then at your nose, lips, hands, clothes. And it all gets memorized, and thus your baby’s mother’s image, the image of the dearest and mostly beloved person is getting formed. And how confused will your baby look, if someone else puts your clothes on. This kind of “transformation” will be extremely difficult for your baby to understand, and that is why you should not make his surrounding world perception too tensed.
