The Tenth Month

You should never try to raise a genius and it is not time to start to learn letters with your little baby, as his brain is not ready to accept such a difficult information yet, and if you even managed to teach him several letters of digits, he may skip something different, which may be more important for a little one at this period of his development (like walking formation skill, etc).

The Surrounding Perception
One day you may notice your baby is behaving as if he is not listening to your requests or orders. And it is not because of his wish not to fulfill them, it may simply happen, because a baby was concentrated at one of his “own” problems (how to fetch something from a place, which is not available, or how to look at something, he did not see before, etc.) at the moment you were telling him to do something. You may notice your baby pulling his ears. This phenomenon may be explained by the molar (an edged tooth) appearance. It irritates the nerves on the side of a cheek it is coming from. The tooth cutting out may even be accompanied by a felling of pain, raised temperature, nervousness. If the temperature does not get lowered (you should never give him aspirin), and if it is connected with the pus from his ear, do not delay with the doctor’s consultation, as such a condition needs to be cured. But if you only notice some red skin in the air area, stay calm, this irritation is only the result of your baby’s pulling his ear.

Sleep
Most babies sleep now only once in a daytime, but their night sleep becomes longer then. You are to try to make your little one sleep closer to his dinner time, in order he would not become too much exhausted by the evening. If you were bathing your little one in the morning, or somewhere around noon, remove his bathing time to the evening hours, as taking a bath helps your baby get relaxed and ready to sleep.

A Piece of Advice from a Pediatrist
It is a pity, but now your little one is available to any surrounding infection. Any disease is usually revealed by a raised temperature (beginning from 100, 4 degrees F, and higher). The temperature gets risen very fast as a rule, and some children have the so – called “febricity” cramps, which get revealed by the separate arms, legs and body convulsions, sometimes your baby breath may even get stopped. So you are to discuss all the measures which should be taken to get the temperature down with your baby’s doctor.

Your Baby’s Achievements
Intellectual
Your baby is able to connect the names of the objects with the places they exist: “an airplane is in the sky”, “a car is on the road”, etc. He can also imitate adult people’s communication intonation. A child compares the ability to fulfill actions with his left and right body sides. He would talk, repeating “the chain” of simple syllables.

Social
Your little son or daughter is crazy about the “Catch and Loose” and “Roll Me the Ball” games. He would try to call his actions praising and does not like any disagreement. Sometimes he does not want to communicate with someone of you. Your baby may express his feeling of guilt.

Sensor – Motive
Babies at this period of their life love to “read” by turning over the pages of some book. He plays with things, which may be put one into another; he can get a spoon to his mouth as well. Your little one can put off his socks and draw the laces out from his shoes. He would walk around furniture, and is able to sit down from a standing position. Your little child stands well enough and he can stand on his tiptoes, if necessary.

Physical
Your little baby becomes about 0, 6 – 0, 8 pounds heavier and half an inch longer during the eleventh month of his life.
